On September 5th I had the chance to return to the beautiful city of Asheville, NC. Last year for approximately the same date I had the chance to shoot a wedding session in the very same venue and, I have to confess, it’s one of my favorite places ever. Ridgeview Venue is located among the beautiful mountains of Asheville and every photo I take there makes me fall in love with it even more.
Carson and Hunter’s wedding was much smaller, simpler; because of social distancing brought on by COVID-19. Regardless, it was a safe, emotion-filled atmosphere. I love it when I get to do wedding sessions starting with the bride and groom’s preparation because I get to see the emotions each person feels from a unique perspective. Starting with the nerves they feel when they’re getting their makeup done, the anticipation leading up to the altar and the happiness everyone experiences when the ceremony is done. Each moment has its own beauty.
As I mentioned before, this wedding was full of moments that made me laugh, and cry. Starting with the moment Carson did the “first look” with her dad-that was such a beautiful moment. Every person there was instantly moved to tears along with them. But out of everything that happened, my favorite moment was when the bride danced with her baby to the tune of “Wild World” (by Kip Moore) and I couldn’t stop crying and thinking of my own baby. It was a wedding full of many emotions, but again, definitely one to remember.
